Dr. Mamina Turegano is board certified in dermatology, internal medicine, and dermatopathology by The American Board of Dermatology and The American Board of Dermatopathology. She received her medical degree at Louisiana State University’s Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed her residency at the Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Turegano combined internal medicine and dermatology and pursued her fellowship training at the University of California’s David Geffen School of Medicine. As a Dermatologist, Dr. Turegano has received a variety of recognizable honors and awards, including Best Oral Abstract at the 19th International Society of Dermatopathology Joint, the American Society of Dermatopathology Mentorship Award, first place at the 14th International Society of Dermatopathology Joint, and Advanced Resident Training and Education (ARTE) in Dermatology scholarship.
Dr. Turegano’s academic and administrative leadership was explored as a Chief Resident at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center Internal Medicine and Dermatology Program, where she also co-chaired the Residency Recruitment Committee.

Dr. Turegano has performed research in such topics as cutaneous pathology, vaccine-induced toxic epidermal necrolysis, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma in patients with psoriasis, pediatric dermatology, melanocytic matricoma, oropharyngeal disease in leprosy and has published in various journals including Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatol Online Journal, The American Journal of the Medical Sciences, Pediatric Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, The American Journal of Dermatopathology, Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, and Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Dr. Turgeano has also spoken at a widespread of conferences including the 50th and 52nd American Society of Dermatopathology Meeting, The 18th International Leprosy Congress Meeting, The Orlando Dermatology Aesthetic & Clinical Conference, The American College of Physicians National Meeting and the Atlantic Dermatological Conference to name a few.
