Christopher Chu, MD, FAAD

Christopher Chu, MD, FAAD, is a double Board-Certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist who practices clinically at Pure Dermatology in Austin, Texas, in addition to reading cases for Sagis Diagnostics. He proudly serves his community with his wife, Chelsey Straight, MD, FAAD, offering a full range of dermatologic services.

Dr. Chu attended the University of Texas, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II Honors and a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology. He went on to achieve his Doctor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. After completing his transitional year internship at Virginia Mason, Dr. Chu then completed his dermatology residency and dermatopathology fellowship at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He served as a chief resident in his final year of residency.

Dr. Chu has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals, written book chapters, and presented at national conferences. He is passionate about continuing education and regularly attends conferences to provide cutting-edge medical and cosmetic dermatology to his patients. Dr. Chu is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP).

Outside the office, Dr. Chu enjoys spending time with his twin girls, his wife, and his black Labrador. He enjoys hiking, rock climbing, cooking, and trying different cuisine styles. He is also fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Dr. Chu is passionate and excited to be a part of the Sagis team, where he can help provide the most accurate diagnosis to provide the best treatment plan for his patients.
