DIRECTOR OF PEDIATRIC DERMATOLOGY COLLABORATION
Alanna F. Bree, M.D. is a double board-certified Pediatric Dermatologist, as well as the Founder and President of the Board for Made A Masterpiece™. She is passionate about making the world a better place for children impacted by skin conditions and birthmarks by supporting their social and emotional needs so they can truly love the skin they are in and face the world with confidence. She also loves building relationships and collaborating with others since she wholeheartedly believes we are better when we work together and lift one another to be the best version of ourselves.
In addition, she enjoys teaching about pediatric dermatology and raising awareness about the impact of living with a skin condition so the world can be a more understanding, accepting, and loving place for those with visible skin differences. She is excited to join the Sagis team as the Director of Pediatric Dermatology Collaboration and use her previous experiences and skills to grow this new area of focus for this amazing patient-focused and philanthropic organization. Dr. Bree is now a featured guest on our Dermpath Happy Hour Sessions.
Professionally, Dr. Bree has worked in both academic and private practice settings. She retired from the clinical practice of Pediatric Dermatology in 2022. She has been actively involved in the American Academy of Dermatology and Society for Pediatric Dermatology, where she has participated in several leadership roles & given many nationally invited lectures. She has been involved in national and international pediatric dermatology research with NIH grant funding for her work on AEC Syndrome, has several scientific publications, and is co-author of The Illustrated Manual of Pediatric Dermatology. She has been a long-time volunteer at the American Academy of Dermatology’s Camp Discovery. She is also a previous member of the Scientific Advisory Council for the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias, and was co-chair of the Dermatology Advisory Group for the World Health Organization to update the International Classification of Diseases.
Dr. Bree has additionally authored her own book, A Children’s House: A Little Story About A God-sized Dream, which is a personal testimony of all God has done in and through her life. She desires that her work brings glory to God and spreads the love and light of Jesus to a hurting world that needs His mercy and grace for complete healing. In truth, she considers that to be the best medicine of all for every heart and soul!
